Hippo the Water Saver is a simple low cost device to help conserve water in toilet cisterns.
As most toilets do not need to use a full cistern of water to flush effectively
The Hippo saves between 2.5-3.5 litres of water every flush. when fitted in an average cistern of 9 litres , reducing the water usage of an average family by between 10-15%.
 
 
Made from heavy gauge polyethylene, the hippo sits in the toilet cistern.
When the toilet is flushed, the water that is within the Hippo is saved.
The Hippo will pay for itself in a matter of months if your water supply is metered, using the Hippo will also help to mitigate the effects of climate change by saving water .
 
Fitting the Hippo is very straight forward and can be completed in minutes , all that is needed is a jug of water - fitting instructions printed on the reverse of the hippo. (If you find the level of saving impairs the flushing, you can simply cut off one of the bottom corners of the bag.)

The Hippo has a small hole punched through both sides. This acts as a relief valve, allowing slow circulation of water to prevent stagnation and evaporation.
